For all of our Twitter-using friends – we don’t usually like to post but we seem to be getting a lot of these coming to us:

If you receive a tweet offering to see “your top 20 Twitter Stalkers”, with an address similar to:

“http://bitterly/tweetviewer”

(actual URL not posted in case someone clicks on it, but you get the idea given http://bit.ly is a commonly used site for shortening twitter links.)

This is a twitter Worm and will just start posting the same message to all your followers too.  It doesn’t seem to do anything beyond that, but it certainly could be annoying.

If you do get stung and have authorized the application “Tweetviewer”… you can go to twitter.com, login as yourself, then go to:

Twitter Settings – Connections – choose the application and “Revoke access”
